Conservation Minute | The New England Moose

Apr 24, 2012

Ranging in size from 800 to 1,600 pounds and with antlers than can exceed 6 feet in width… a mature bull moose is North America’s largest member of the deer family. Once threatened with extinction in New England, dramatic increases in populations during the last half of the 20th Century…resulting from full protection and habitat recovery…allowed for the first modern day hunting seasons in the 1980’s and 90’s.
