USA Member Testimonials!

We love to hear from our members because it helps us make the Union Sportsmen's Alliance an even greater value. Here are some of the comments we've received from members by email, letter, Facebook or through the USA forums.

In the Words of USA Members…

The USA is a great thing for union members with a common interest in hunting and fishing.  It’s another way to come together and build solidarity as well as a great way to demonstrate that as union members, we do hunt and fish. - Thomas Reger, Apprenticeship Coordinator of OPCMIA Local 633

I knew the USA would take off…I have already had several conversations with new members about hunting tips and have taken advantage of some great discounts on top notch gear. The more the membership goes up the more sponsors will get involved. Thanks USA and a big thanks to the sponsors that are on board so far.  -Beau Jencks, IAMAW District 6

I just joined the USA.  I’m getting my son involved in shooting, hunting and fishing.  He is already displaying strong union ideals, and this will help to strengthen both. We are both happy to be a part of this organization. –Charles Welch, IBEW Local 712

I really am glad to have this opportunity. Union sportsmen should appreciate what is being done for us. I look forward to the day when we get honest info on guides, hunts, and honest to goodness DISCOUNTS on hunting and fishing trips. - Glen Osborne, IBEW Local 129

I think the USA website will be successful if we get the word out to our brothers and sisters. I think it is very cool to exchange hunting and fishing stories with each other. Keep ‘em coming.
- Donald Ols, UA Local 120

I joined the USA because it’s truly an organization for union members who love to hunt and fish and show off what they caught or shot with each other.  I’m enjoying my In-Fisherman magazine subscription, and I think it’s great that the USA is able to give away a Triton Bass Boat to one lucky member. –Robert Danley, Roofers Local 96

There is only one other forum I spend anytime on and that is Flocknockers.  I think you are heading down the right path here.  There has been no bashing, no spam to speak of and everyone shows a lot of respect to the other members even if you may not agree with there opinion on something.  You have the giveaways going and are always looking to make things better.  I think if you just give it time and keep listening to member feedback this will grow into a hell of a place.  It is great now but we are new and it will take some time to get there but the Administration is doing a great job and I think we will only get better.  I still would like to see a gun dog forum !!!! But other than that, no complaints from me. -Brett Graham, IAMAW Local 839

I am a 4th generation Union member. My great grandfather was a stone mason. My grandfather was an electrician. My father was a machinist, and my brother is an electrician. I am a union Pipefitter. I joined almost right out of high school, and 90% of my best friends are here or in another Local or around the country. I’ve met great people involved with different unions here and around the country, and the people I meet usually have one main thing in common-we enjoy working and playing outdoors. The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance was the perfect fit and a natural progression.  It is my great pleasure to be associated with two great organizations, the United Association and the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance. You can consider me a lifelong member of both. - Tony DeKlerk, UA Local 422

From USA Shooting Events

Just wanted to let you know everyone on my team had a blast and are very interested in shooting in future events. Again we are looking forward to shooting next year. -Mark D. Shughart, SMWIA Local 2

I wanted to thank you for your hospitality and let you know that the Kiewit team had a great time and really enjoyed your event.  Keep us in mind for next year and thanks again. -Ron Hutchins, Kiewit Power Constructors

Though I was feeling under the weather, I had a great time. Looking forward to next year.  I also believe you have opened a lot of our eyes to a new sport for us, thank you. - Tom Dye, IBB Local 83

Thank You. I had a great time and it was a great day. My team and I had never shot at an event like this before and were impressed with the set up and would do it again. Thanks again for a great day. - Ray Price, IUPAT General VP

I want to thank you and USA for coming to Juneau and sponsoring our trap shoot last night…Everyone enjoyed themselves, most people won door prizes, and we had additional participation from non-shooting members who cooked and helped prep.  In fact, the cook vows to field a shooting team next year.  And we certainly hope there will be a next year!  Tim and Nate were terrific - personable, helpful, with good, quick answers and lots of energy and enthusiasm. - Pete Ford, AFT 8050
