Nashville, TN—The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s (USA) union-dedicated hunting and fishing TV Show, Brotherhood Outdoors, took home a 2011 Sportsman Choice Award for Best Combination Show last week during the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) show.

2011 winners were revealed Wednesday, January 18 in front of a crowd of 800 of the industry’s leading producers, personalities and sponsors at the Sportsman Channel’s annual awards ceremony in Las Vegas. More than 140,000 viewers cast their votes for these prestigious awards which included nods for Brotherhood Outdoors in two categories: Best Hunting and Fishing Combination Show and Fish of the Year.

Brotherhood Outdoors has the potential to help shape the American public’s understanding and positive impression of unions,” said USA Executive Director Fred Myers. “This was a very competitive category and winning clearly demonstrates that America’s sportsmen and women are engaged and respect the dedicated volunteers and conservation heroes prevalent in the union community.”

Hosted by noted outdoorsman Tom Ackerman and produced by Warm Springs Productions, Brotherhood Outdoors is a unique outdoor TV series that pairs union worker’s commitment to their communities with their love for the great outdoors. These deserving, blue-collar characters are rewarded with a guided hunting or fishing trip in North America or the opportunity to show off their skills by taking host Tom Ackerman to their own honey holes.

Currently in its second season, Brotherhood Outdoors airs in 31 million homes at 8 p.m. E/P every Thursday. Boasting eight, all-new, adrenaline-pumping episodes, you won’t want to miss your union brothers and sisters as they pursue some of North America’s finest fish and game, including California hog, Alberta moose, Indiana trout, Montana deer and more.
