Arizona IUPAT Member Wins Triton Bass Boat
NASHVILLE - The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and Triton Boats recently awarded Lonnie Tinder, a member of the USA and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades in Phoenix, AZ, a brand new Triton 18 Explorer bass boat and a matching trailer, valued at approximately $25,000.
The USA is North America’s premier hunting and fishing club exclusively for union members, retirees and their families. As a program of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, the AFL-CIO and 20 of its affiliated unions, the USA extends union member benefits beyond the workplace to the woods and water. One of those benefits is ongoing giveaways for USA members, including firearms, knives, trips and the Triton boat.
"USA members are our customer base, and we’re proud of this association," said Earl Bentz, Founder and President of Triton Boats. "Our boats are made in America, the Mercury engine is union made in America, and we’re excited to support these union members here in North America."
"One of the USA’s commitments is to seek out and deliver exceptional benefits for union hunters and anglers that uphold their union values, said Fred Myers, Executive Director of the USA. "That’s why we’re so proud of our partnership with Triton Boats and the chance to award an avid fisherman and IUPAT member with a U.S.-made Triton boat to expand his fishing opportunities in the many mountain lakes surrounding Phoenix."
Winning the Triton bass boat powered by a Mercury engine demonstrates just how well the USA fits Tinder’s union-outdoor lifestyle. "USA-made and union-made is something I always try to support because I know it is excellent quality," said Tinder.
Tinder learned about the USA while participating in TRCP initiatives. The TRCP is a coalition of many of the nation’s leading conservation organizations and individuals working together to preserve the traditions of hunting and fishing. As a union member and a sportsman, Tinder thought the concept of an alliance of union members with a common interest in the outdoors sounded like a great idea, so he joined the USA as one of its founding members in October 2007.
Tinder and his wife, Debbie, picked up their new Triton Boat from Complete Marine in Phoenix, AZ, last week and look forward to going bass fishing in the lakes near their home.
"The USA makes me even prouder to be an IUPAT member because the outdoors is something I love, and it’s nice to see that my union agrees with me," said Tinder. I would just like to thank the USA and Triton boats. This is fantastic-it’s hard to believe."
