Small farm ponds are great mid-day loafing spots for puddle ducks, particularly if hunting pressure is heavy. A current topographic map – or better yet, Internet-based satellite imagery – of your hunting locale should reveal the whereabouts of several shallow pond opportunities. Get permission, and have at it.
