I’m in the market for a safety harness. Since my buddy put my stand in the clouds and believe it to be a worth while investment. Is Hunters Safety Harness the best and worth the money or is it outdoor channel fantasy! Please give me some feed back.

9292mtstew,

I have seen the HS harness and I know a lot of folks like it but I do know that Summit makes a pretty good harness as well.  I have had a Viper stand for a couple of years and wear the harness all the time.  Fortunately, I haven’t come out of my stand (yet) to really test it out but I have been real happen with it so far.  I am including a link to their link in case you want to check them out.

http://www.summitstands.com/catalog.aspx?catid=treestandharnessesharnessaccessories

I do want to let you and all of the other members know that because you belong to the USA, Summit will give you 20% off your purchase of treestands and accessories, including harnesses, if you order directly through them.  Just click the the deals and discounts section on the USA homepage and look for Summit listed on the right side of the page.  All of the details for the special offer are listed there.

Hope this helps.

thanks for the link.

we all have safety meetings at work but never do we think about it at play or home. maybe that is why more accidents happen at away from work.

i like the idea of a harness in a tree stand. we all hear of the guy who fell out of his tree stand. some of us have fallen. also keep a rescue plan handy. dont rely on your cell phone. mine dont work where i hunt or fish most of the time.

Seven to ten feet off the ground in the right tree is all it takes. If I get to old, and forgetfull of where I am to fall that far I will retire from life! Sorry if that was rude.

Didn’t really believe in karma, till today! You guessed it, fell eight feet getting out of my stand today. Only thing hurt real bad is my ego! As I was laying there, I had to laugh.

9292mtstew,
Let me know how you like your harness. Might be in the market!

My wife loves me…she bought be the Pro Hunters Series Safety system this year before the hunt. I have to tell you all that it is the best thing since SLICE BREAD!  It has 8 pockets, 2 that zip, buckle fastening for easy use to get in and out of it.  Most of us who have used safety systems that come with the stands, know it takes 10 mins to figure them out, 20 mins in the dark!  It was well worth the money and I feel more confident from the stand, just because I feel secure. Never thought I would need one, but if its the storage, the security, or just the comfortable fit, its well worth giving the HSS a shot.
