I travel a lot with my job and occasionally find rifles that get me going. I am looking at a used Belgium made Browning BAR in 300 mag for around $550.00 and it appears to be about 90-95%. The sticker that came on it from the factory is still on the right side of the receiver, the bore is clean and crisp. Good price?

I bought my Encore with the intent of never buying another gun, barrels only but….................................. rolleyes

Sorry for the slow response, been hunting.

The gun (grade 1) books for around $ 400.00 but a dealer has to make some money.  I think the price reasonable.  I have foudn the best ways to deal with dealers is to ask for a few accessories for 50% off with the purchase.  The mark up on guns is small but as much as 100% on acc.  Get a sling, some bases and rings, and maybe a case at 1/2 price and you got a good deal.

BARs are hard to find used around here in .300.  Dealers will often put a little bit of a premium on harder to find guns.  Nice BARs are normally over $500 around here.

I bought it and it is stored. My nephew will enjoy it someday. I had already given him a Mauser in 7 x 57 with mannlicher stock, carbine version for his 16th birthday. He will be going to college this fall, hopefully at the University of Kentucky. He tells me that eventually he would like to open a gun shop after he completes a degree in mechanical engineering. I wonder if I’ll get my work done cheaply? Thanks guys.
