Hi Fellow Bow Hunters,
I am looking for advice on choosing the best hunting arrows for my bow. My bow has a 23” draw and will be set at 50lb. by the time the season rolls around. According to PSE, the bow shoots between 287-278 ft./sec. when at full draw (27”). I’m not sure how much it decreases when set at 23.”
Anyways, I want to ensure that the KE is high enough to kill a deer at 20-30 yards. Do I go with aluminum or carbon arrows? I saw some youth carbon arrows on sale on the Bass Pro Shops website. They are for a draw weight of 30-50lb. Since my bow is set at that max. of that range, is it a bad idea to go with those arrows?
How about the weight of the broadhead? Fixed or not?
Any suggestions on the best brand of arrows for a lighter bow?
Well…that’s a lot of questions. If you have any advice, I’m all ears.
Thanks,
Kate
