If you have trouble sitting all day in conventional tree stands the tree saddle is the way to go.  I have the winter model made of cordura and neoprene and have been using it for a few years now.  I bought some climbing sticks to go with it .  They are kind of tricky to use but once you get the hang of it.  Its a very doable situation.  I’m primarily a gun hunter but my first hunt with the rig was with the bow.  That is what this device was made for.  You literally become a part of the tree and its as quiet as you can be.  I’m going to invest in some professional climbing spikes this year so I can go deeper in the woods with less banging and clanging to get to a spot.  If you are going in deep and gnarly you cant go wrong with the tree saddle.  I carry it in my backpack and it only weighs about 15lbs altogether.  I would recommend it to anyone.

Big Bird I feel your pain ... literally! Thats why I wrote the posting.  I have tried all kinds of stands from many big names since I’ve been hunting which isnt that long but I have the ability to go out alot so what I lack in years I make up for in enthusiasm and condensd time in the woods presently.  I can sit in this device for at least 7 hrs straight the only really tricky part is urinating from the set up you have to practice this close to the ground and purchase some of those tree urinals like Ted nugent promotes on his show in camo.  Other than that this unit is comfortable so you move much less than you have to in a conventional tree stand.  I don’t have any pics of me in the device but I’ll have someone take some of me this year and post em.  Have a great fishing season.

I have used a tree saddle bow and gun hunting for about five years now.  Its a great product from a good company.  When you need to be mobile there is nothing that I know of that comes close to the weight or comfort.

A Tree Saddle is basically a navy boatswains chair without the wooden board in it.  Its an all fabric version.  A boatswains chair is the device you see employed for one man to lower over the side of the ship to do repair work or painting on a ships outer hull or on a sailboat mast.  The tree saddle is nice because its alot softer on the rump and tends to grip you securely like a work saferty harness but without the pressure load on your femoral arteries and veins so you can sit long periods without losing circulation to your limbs.
