OK boys, bring it on…I want to hear what EVERYONE is thinking.  We’re not going to be able to make this club better if we don’t get some good feedback about what we have going on.

It will take a while to really get going. There are many sites out there that have been around for years with barely 500 members.

I agree with you 100% but if we can do some smart things at the beginning to help make this organization even more attractive we want to at least try.  I also hope that our existing members (you good folks) are spreading the word if you are enjoying what we are doing here.  One thing we have been talking about is a recruitment campaign that would reward members for bringing in new folks.  I have already talked to my good friend Mausergun63 about this idea but would like to know what anyone else thought about this.

Give aways are one of the best recruitment tools. Doesn’t have to be expensive items. A fair call, good lanyard, knife, cheap game vest, heck anything you can get out of sponsors. You might even buy a banner add on a few of the bigger boards.

Thanks for the feedback and we are actually working on a couple of things like this that will reward members for getting involved…especially for stories and photos from the field or on the water.  The member interaction has been one of the best surprises for us and we want to continue to encourage this.  I am open to any additional ideas you guys have as well.

I agree with a previous poster, give aways might be a good idea. One way might be a member gets something for signing someone else up.
Also I don’t know what anyone else thinks but a hunting dog page may be a help with someone looking for puppies or maybe even training.

Welcome Brian!

This is Beau, glad to see you here! You have a great point, and a good suggestion.  I have been thinking of getting a pup, and I have no idea what to look for or how to train it for all the different types of hunting I would like it to do.

Keep up the posts, and get lot’s of your co-workers to join and get involved. I would be happy to come to your lodge to give a presentation and answer any questions they may have.  You might talk with your e-board and see if they would like to be a charter local. See ya soon - BROTHER!

I live in Northern NJ and am avid upland birdhunter.  Anything with bird dogs and fly fishing gets my attention.  Most of the guys in my local are deer hunters and saltwater fishermen.  I’ve mentioned this organization to some guys but most aren’t into the web.  Has anyone at USA touched base with the International Longshoremen’s Association?  Seems like there are lots of hunters and fisherman working on the docks!

I really am glad to have this opportunity. Union sportsmen should appreciate what is being done for us. I look forward to the day when we get honest info on guides, hunts, and honest to goodness DISCOUNTS on hunting and fishing trips.

I think this site will be successful if we get the word out to our brothers and sisters. I think it is very cool to exchange hunting and fishing stories with each other. Keep em coming

I agree, get the word out. Everyone should have see the ads in their respective Union mags. Word of mouth is a very powerful tool too.
