Love this product. I was hunting a south Georgia swamp this week and using a Therma-Cell, bowhunting for deer, and I noticed something interesting. I was on the ground, snuggled up against a great big live oak, and while waiting for a deer to appear, I was being entertained by several beetles and a centipede around the base of the tree. After about 30 minutes, I noticed the centipede acting a bit disturbed, then it fell to the base of the tree, right on top of five beetles that were dead as a hammer. These things are potent. No wonder they work on mosquitos! Mental note, from now I’ll have that sucker downwind so it’s not blowing on me.

I’ve got to admit…Its the best thing you can carry when entering the woods, going camping, or just trying to enjoy the outdoors.  I live in a secluded woodfilled valley and used Thermal cell almost everynight while being out doors. Since the flooding was so dramatic this season, the insects and pests buzzing around my ears was incredible. Last weekend, I spent my time bowhunting in WI and as we know you can never predict the weather in WI, it was hot, hot, hot, 80 degrees and sunny and I’m working to harvest my first deer of the season. As luck prevailed, I was able to harvest a good size doe saturday evening. The bugs were out, but SO WAS I…thanks to Therma-Cell.

I bought one unit for my buddy and I after a september goose hunt and I will not leave home without it.  It worked great at one point when it was slow we looked up and a swarm of mosquitos were hoovering over us but would not come within 10 yards of us.  I know that sounds crazy but true.  My wife bought another one for her while she is sitting at the kids baseball and softball games in the summer.  My sons team played at a park near a river and after the sun went down the mosquitos tried to carry the kids away.  I put a therma-cell in the dugout at a baseball game and it cleared them all out and the kids would race to the dugout so they could get to their “safe zone.”  For around 20-25 bucks it is well worth it.

I’ve owned 1 for the past 2 years and probably the best invention since the Telephone!!  gives you the opportunity to hunt longer and fish harder!

I’ve found refills at some of the discount hunting stores and a store I like to call Big Lots on steroids in Pinconing MI but they seem to be about the same price as at the name brand stores. They also make a lantern for your picnic tables and a “mood lantern” that changes colors. I’m happy with mine.

I fish and hunt in alaska were the state bird is a mosquitoes. It is price-less unit. You should even have to think about buying one. it’s a must have. It like going ito the woods without your knife. Know you would leave your knife at home would u.

yup.
i know im a little late for this topic but i totally agree..

Catskill mountain mosquito’s in NY didnt stand a chance against the thermacel with the Earth Scent mats.

works great for mosquito’s but fly’s can still be annoyinig , but it doesnt advertise for fly’s so i guess its a genuine product

just my .02 cents

Another review from a USA member…

My first ThermaCell unit was given to me as a Christmas gift.  At that time I was skeptical about this product and wasn’t willing to spend my money on it.  Let me tell you , these things really work.  I first took it with me on a spring turkey hunt and could’nt believe the results.  Not only did it repel the mosquitos but also the ticks and chiggers.  I came home with a great turkey and was itch free for the first time ever turkey hunting.  As the weather started to warm, I would take it with me night fishing and very positive results.  Since then, I have purchased several more units and use them on a regular basis hunting, fishing, camping, boating and even just relaxing on the patio after work.

I think it makes a great Christmas gift because, even though ThermaCell has been out for years, I feel that there are still many people out there that have never heard of them or are just as skeptical as I was and even if you already own one, there is always a need for another.  I have 3 now and if there were one in our Christmas Grab Bag this year, I would go for it…

I bought one for every member of my family last year. My wife and I even use ours just sitting on the side porch sipping a beer watching the fire in the chimnea on cool evenings.
