I purchased the Elite Archery Bow last season. Its made in Spokan Washington, and the designer came from Bowtech. you won’t find it in to many places, but it sure is fast.
I’d look at the Full Force Archery Bows, made in WI and will probably give you a Discount for being a USA member. They have helped us out in being the only company to give us a bow for a few give aways, including the give away that you will see in your USA Journal and on the main page of our website.

Michael,

I think Boss is exactly right about this.  there are lots of great bows in the market but I think its an individual thing.  If you can find a good shop and spend some time with a good rep, they will let you try a couple of different set-ups to see what suites you best.  The best folks wont try to push the most expensive bow on you but will try to pair you with the bow that you feels right to you.  If they are willing to do this the right way, you can reward them with you business related to all of your accessories.

As far as union made bows, the closest I can find is Bowtech which is owned by Savage Arms (yep, Savage Arms) which are produced by the Machinists.  They have expressed an interest in working with the USA and we are hoping to put a special offer together for our members later this year.  Tim also mentioned Full Force Archery and these are some good guys as well that want to help our program.

Let us know where things go with this.

Micheal,
Everyones has it right after finding a nicely priced bow for you then all you have to do is start shooting it up.  Practice, Practice, Practice.  Remember if you find a really nice rep and you haven’t done much shooting before lots of pro shops also give lessons.  Learn as much as you can.  Have fun and Stay safe.  Steve

I have found if you go to a Mathews dealer they will give you a better deal then you will find with any other manufacturer. I bought my Mathews Monster last year for $650 and they are selling the Z7 extreme for $700. I think that is a great price for a top of the line bow.

I’m getting in to bow hunting but dont knwo much about it. Watch a reasonalbe price for a “beginner” model. We’re having our first child, the motorcycle is going but the wife says the hunting gear can stay and I can get more. So I dont want to spend too much cause I have the Ruger M77 Ruger ont he tip of my nose. Bow hunting looks fun and gets me out in woods a few more weeks. Any suggestions?!

I am also new to this site, I found it by accident which isa blessing, lots & lots of great info on here..

Anyway, I am a bow only hunter, I have my liege license to carry/conceal so I could hunt all season.., that being said, I LOVE my bow tech general.., didn’t cost me an arm & a leg.. I think I got it for $400 ALL set up.., sites, rest, arrow holder & whatever else they come with, I actually use this same bow for indoor archery to..  I know Hoyt also makes some good bows, PSE also.. A friend of mine got a Bear I think it was called from bass pro, cheap money, quiet & shot really nice..
