OK I was gonna ask what’s a fluke but then I thought I was settin my self up. So googled it & there is such a thing. Never heard of them. One website said to fish for them like you would blues. Never been fishing up there in yankee land. Are they just native to the north atlantic? And don’t laugh cause I’ve never heard of em, ever heard of a horneyhead? Its a creek minnow here in the south with 3 horns on its head just like the dinosaur. I think largest on record is around 8”. The spring festival in the town I live in is centered around a fishing tourney for em. Hmm ,me thinks theres a redneck joke in there somewhere…...

Any way, good luck w/the fishing!!!

Sorry i did not give out more info but as you googled it up you know fluke as summer flounder. a flat fish that was not born flat .one eye migrate to the same side as the other eye and presto now it is a flat fish.they seem to be native in the Atlantic ocean but have cousins in the pacific(halibut)they are a saltwater fish that grow to about five to ten pounds which in these parts are called a doormat to a record of twenty two pounds.they are bottom feeders that can camouflage them self to the surrounding area .anyway i hope i cleared up the mystery a llittle. Now i have to get out and try to catch some because they taste really good.

Hey they inhabit same waters as specks & reds ,have read of those who fish for the reds w/ the fly . I have a 9 wt that i bought for SW , but havn’t spent the time to learn that fishery yet. YET! So I don’t see why a flounder couldn’t be. Oh also saw a listing for a website , floundergigging.com (sp). St Agustine area I belive.
