Thought this was a good cartoon for all those anti union folks who have been bashing our hard working teachers.

Never was truer words spoken. This great nation has gone back in time. It will not be long untill we have the company store again.

My daughter has chosen this same path.  Currently she is enrolled as a sophomore at the University of Maine in Farmington, to be an educator.  With all the hype about the MEA and state funding, I worry that she has made a bad choice but I am so proud of her to choose such a noble and under appreciated career.  Where would we be today without our educators?  Seriously, can anyone say that their lives havent been affected by the teachers we had when we were young?  The future is unwritten and it is up to people like us to make sure our voices are heard.  Thanks for posting that cartoon.  It really hit home for me.

Mike your daughter has chosen a noble career..the oppurtunity to teach young minds and make a differance is truely a calling and I have the most respect for teachers! You should be very proud that is awsome! This cartoon hit home when I seen a parent of my sons classmate bashing public employee wages and pensions then turn around and send his kid into school..I just dont get it..even as a firefighter we are getting destroyed everyday they are laying off left and right cutting wages.. 4th of July we had 4 guys covering our city we used to have 9 we responded to 31 runs in 24 hours..they are trying to eliminate us completely in the city I am employed at…Its sad something has to change..I wish your daughter the best no matter how hard times are she has chosen a great path and will make a difference in someones life!
