It’s been a while since I was on the blog confused . Had lots of trouble with my computer & E-mail. But i think I got the Bugs out cheese  I was lucky enough to take this 142” 10pt Whitetail with my Marlin 510 Bolt action shot gun at 165 yards, using Hornady’s 1oz SST Sabot. in Dec 2010.  This gun is a fantastic production gun with a one piece fixed barrel & action with a bottom fed clip that holds 1 shell in the action and 2 in the clip. If you ever see one for sale, buy it before i buy a second one. I was hunting with Jarod Jackson, owner of Illinois Ohio Valley Trophy Hunts, located in Simpson Illinois. If your looking for a great hunt , check him out. Here is a picture of the Buck in velvet in the summer too.

Awesome buck and it’s great to hear from you again and to see your smiling face.  Where the heck have you been?

I don’t hunt much with a shotgun but I would think that is a pretty good shot at 165 yards.  Very good looking buck.  Looks like he had been watched over for a few years before you took him.  Really neat that you have trail cam pictures of him as well.

Hello Mike. My computer was driving me nuts. I forgot my password and could not get the new one u folks sent me off my e-mail. I was also working 19 months straight through 3 refuel outage’s as a structural welder electrician with crazy overtime. and now I’m in Atlantic City working crazy overtime again since the first of the year. But that’s going to slow down soon. I was still able to fit in and attend the Philadelphia area sporting clay shoot and grab a hunt in Buffalo County WI with Mike Law and met up with Tom Ackerman. I was in camp the same week when u filmed a Deer hunt with ” Eddie the Bird “. I came back empty, although I let a 10 pt walk at 8 yds. He was 1 or 2 years away from being a Wisconsin Giant. Mike told us the Deer was on the property and asked us If we had an opportunity at him to let him walk. So like luck would have it, he ran up to my stand with 5 Doe’s and just posed for me at 8 yrds for about 2 or 3 min. I plan to attend the New Jersey sporting clay shoot in May and I’m working on 4 carpenters on the job to attend also. Haven’t moved to Texas yet, but things working in the family might decide that for us. I’m booked for another Dec. firearm hunt in Southern Illinois again and a October Rifle Prong Horn hunt in Montana.
