Well! Back to my original post. I stayed out of my hunting area for a month. The first nite I went, This bruiser(in the photo) comes walking right down the middle of my food plot. I put my 40 yd. pin on him, and he keeps walking along sniffing the ground like a beagle. Don’t you love the rut!!?? I thought I’d better grunt like they do on the videos to try to stop him. Perfect! He stops broadside, I put the 20yd pin on him and let her fly. Well that didn’t work out too well. I didn’t even scare him enough to make him run off. He did walk away from me though not giving me another shot. Major mental glitch. How many elk do I have to shoot with my bow, and how old do I need to be before I can hold it all together. Maybe that’s the problem getting too old for this.
Gun season is coming up pretty quick, maybe I or my son-in-law will get him then. He’s taking my grandson to sit with him this year. That’d be neat. Hopefully he’ll take him for his hunter classes this next summer and he can hunt{shoot) next year.
