If anyone is looking for warm hunting clothing that also keeps you dry try Cabbellas Dry Plus line of clothing. These are in machine washable wool and poly fabrics. I have the wool and the pants are great. I have never worn anything that keeps your butt dry while sitting in a wet snowy saddle.

Yes I have their Legacy wool coat and it is great.I also have my boots for work with the dry plus and they have never let me down, stay dry all the time. I now people that are only gonna buy their products from now on be it cloths, boots or equipment because they put their name on a good product and stand behind it. My boots a few years back had the stitching coming undone on one of the heels and called them up and was told send them back and we’ll give you a new pair no questions asked.Gotta love’um

While at the SCI show in Reno I saw some simaler stuff by Gander Mountain. It was lighter and may be nicer for warmer weather but I don’t personnaly know anyone who has tried it.

I have the pants an coat but I like the gloves the best. My hands get cold easy an with the dry plus gloves work great. One thing I hate is cold, wet hands.

Anyone have an opinion on muck boots?  I am in the market for a good pair of boots.  I had cabelas boots and they were ok but they just werent quite comfy or warm enough.

Muck boots are the best; I have the Woody Max model and you need only to wear one pair of med wool socks and your feet will always be warm and comfortable; they breath very well and when in the truck or camp roll the tops down to let them breath even more! Enjoy and good luck!

I have been Cabela’s Dry Plus in their Revolution fleece for 10 yrs. every where from the Colorado high country to torrential rains of Alaska. I have never had a single complaint

Elk,

I’m with you…been using the Cabela’s Dry Plus waterfowl gear and it’s tough to beat.  Only problem is that it ain’t U.S. made.  Wish I could find a good U.S. brand that had the same gear.

hey .
i have the Cabels’s Super Slam winter BIB and PARKA with DRY PLUS.

This outfit is real warm , and even though its a fleece like feeling material , you would think it get stuck on branches and rips alot or it would cling to every little pine needle but it doesnt , and with the DRY PLUS it is water resistant.. it does absorb some water but the inside doesnt get wet.  so it just gets like a sponge and holds weight.

great for any winter hunting in NY November deer thru March predator.

and the super slam version has alot of stregetic placed pockets.

youll see what i mean.
