I made it out for duck opener again this year with a bunch of my good buddies and we had a blast! No limits but lots of fun in the duck blind. We ended up with one goose, two blue wings and ten mallards for the day with six of the mallards sporting 2011 Jack Miner bands!!!I’d rather be lucky then good anyday and this day we were very lucky! I think I should have bought a lottery ticket on the drive home! Here’s a pic of my buddy Gary holding them!

I have a good load of bands, but have never seen so many taken during a single hunt. Congrats!!

Jack Miner is the man who first started banding geese way back in the early 1900’s.Each one of his bands(Grandson’s now) have a verse of scripture on them.He was very famous back in the day.The sanctuary is still there but it seems to be a victim of its own success. It’s still a very cool place to visit for anyone interested in nature and conservation!
