I think this little guy will make someone a great hunting dog if I had the room I would take him. This is the link to his page on pet finder
He has had it a little rough but I hear he is doing better.

About Me
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Kooney
7wk old (approx dob ~6/7/2011)
GSP mix black & white w/ saddles, ticking & roan: Gorgeous!
He was found as a stray in Gratiot County, the unclaimed animals are sold to class B dealers which are then sold to research laboratories unless they are lucky to be rescued by a group like Last Day Dog Rescue!  A shelter volunteer alerted us to this poor pitiful puppy who had been abandoned most likely because he was born w/ a form of ‘pediatric mange’ it is not contagious & is treatable but instead of helping him his ‘owners’ deserted him to fend for himself… Since his condition was left untreated it led to several other secondary infections of the ears, eyes, & skin…  We immediately took him to a vet for evaluation & treatment, the vet thinks there is a chance we got him in time to save his eye, he is responding to the medication & great care he is getting from his LDDR foster home & fellow foster doggie ‘Libby’ also available on our site for adoption.

Kooney does get along w/ other dogs & is working on potting training w/ great success!!!  Despite his pitiful appearance he is a very happy, friendly puppy & with our care he will be in tip top shape & ready for his new home in no time!

If you are unable to adopt or foster at this time but would still like to help the animals especially doggies like poor Kooney who end up w/ very large vet bills please consider donating money towards vetting or supplies like food, dewormers, etc, we have many in our care now that have needed extra vetting & in order to continue doing what we do (saving lives & finding them fabulous forever homes) we need your help!

Scott - If I lived in Michigan I might have to take a shot at this.  Looks like the poor pup has already been through a lot but if he found the right home i bet he would make a perfect pet and working dog.  Hope someone takes a chance on him.

This dog has alot of potential someone I think will do good with this one and the right training. My wife and I have been going back and forth on this one for 2 days now.

I’m with Mike.  If I were closer, I’d be picking him up after work today—regardless of what the husband says smile. I’ll post this to our Facebook page as well to help get the word out.

Best,
Laura
