I watch Escape to the Wild as often as possible, which is as often as our local cable network airs the show. It is wonderful to watch a television show that reflects the positive side of organized labor. All to often what the general public sees on TV or reads about in the newspaper is a negative point of view. I applaud the founders of the USA, their contractor partners, sponsors, & Unions for developing a forum that can reach the general public, or any other non-Union employer or employees around the world, to show the many benefits & rewards of joining or becoming a Union member. Escape to the Wild shows our Brothers & Sisters as hard working, family oriented, positive members of their communities, as well as good stewards & conservationist of our great outdoors & environment. I think, if President Theodore Roosevelt were alive today he would tip his hat in appreciation & thanks to all the hard working men & woman of organized labor who created the Union Sportsman Alliance. As a member of the IBEW for over 36 years, it would be my pleasure to enter for a chance to win a trip of a lifetime.

1-  I watch almost every Sunday unless I am at work.
2-  The show is great, but, it would be way better with me on there.
3-  Our Unions are constantly working tirelessly to accomplish our missions with tremendous success, taking time
to have some serious fun is a reward for the hard work.
4-  Yes, I am going to submit an application to be on the show.  I would love to represent.

Thanks,
James Y.

I watch the show every week.  I was blessed by being a winner of the Alberta, Canada waterfowl hunt in season 1, and would encourage everyone to apply for the ETTW contest.  You would not believe the amount of work that goes into producing the show and administering the contest.  I have made some wonderful friends through the process and still keep in contact with the producer, host and camera men.  What a great bunch of hard working people!  Marc Pierce was awesome and I miss him on the show, but still enjoy Tom Ackerman as the new host.  I enjoy the out-takes at the end of the show because it shows some of the fun that the union members have while being a part of the filming process.  It also demonstrates the skill of the production team in producing a first-class program.  I was awful nervous about how the show would turn out (Not having much to work with from my end) and couldn’t have been more impressed with the end result.  What a memory the whole process will be.

I think it is great that our unions have invested in the quality of our lives, not only in the workplace, but that they have looked into what we as union members value in our personal lives and extended the benefits of union membership into the outdoors.  PLEASE encourage your fellow union brothers and sisters who value and enjoy the outdoors to support the USA and the TRCP.  We all know the strength of unions in the workplace and this same strength can be used to improve our experiences in the outdoors from both the benefits of USA membership and the legislative work of the TRCP.

We thank all of you for sharing your thoughts about Escape to the Wild.  Your feedback will help us continue to improve the show and ensure that it will air for a long time to come.  Congratulations to Wess Ringgold, a steamfitter with UA local 602, known as 602 Fitter on the forums.  He was drawn as the lucky winner of the $100 Cabela’s gift certificate.

Don’t forget to apply for the hunting or fishing trip of a lifetime on season three.  You can find an application by clicking on the Escape to the Wild button on the USA homepage.  There is an early deadline of April 15, 2008 for the Argentina red stag, Canada bear, Texas bass and Panama saltwater trips, so don’t delay.
