My name is Ken Richards
I am looking for any information on locations or guides to hunt elk in Colorado. Hoping to plan a trip in 2011. If you have had a good experience with a guide or a perticular location I would be interested. Thanks

Ken,

Welcome to the forum and we really appreciate you getting involved with the Union Sportsmen’s Alliance.  There have been a lot of post over the years with regards to Elk hunting out west and I would suggest that you enter “Elk” into the search box located on the top right portion of the forum page and it should take you to several of these posts.

I also want to introduce you to JP Vincente who operates a guiding services that covers several states in the southwest including Colorado.  JP is a union man (IAFF) and he has become the USA’s top resource for helping folks figure out a good opportunity to hunt out west.  Finally, JP is kind enough to offer USA members a special discount if they do happen to book business through his operation.  JP placed this post in a thread he opened-up (see below) and I think you might find it helpful to follow-up with him.

Best of luck and please continue to visit and post on the site…there’s a lot of great folks out here in the USA.

Attn.: Union Brothers and Sisters,

Are you looking for a hunt this fall to go on? Have you ever considered hunting the southwest? Most of the record book trophy Elk, Antelope and Deer come for the southwest. Coming out to the southwest isn’t as hard as it may seem. There are hunt licenses and tags available in most states in the southwest for Elk, Deer and Antelope. Some are over the counter purchases and some are through landowners on private land.  Costs will vary with landowner tags. Some will depend if you are guided or unguided.

Here is what Arizona has going on this month! Over the counter Archery Mule Deer and Couse Deer begin on August 20th through September 10th. If you obtain this tag and do not harvest a deer you can comeback in December and hunt these bucks in the RUT!!

There are also Black Bear and Mountain Lion tags and hunts available through out the fall and these tags are also over the counter.

We can assist you in the following states, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado.

Feel free to contact us today!! Take a look at these photos from Nevada last week!

Mike,
Thank you for your quick response. Although today is the Holiday I will check this out as soon as I am able to. I am from Pennsylvania and our deer season begins on Monday. I will be away from the computer for a few days. But as soon as I return I will be anxious to review this information.
Thanks again.
