All I can say is wow.
This thing is insane.

I purchased it back in January. I received a few gift cards for Christmas season to cabela’s so i figured why not ?

Normally , i wouldn’t spend this kind of $$ ( $600 ) on a game caller but the gift cards got me more than h alf way there.

So i called up and had it at my house a few days later.
That weekend I took the caller up to the house upstate NY.

Cold Cold winter weekend. Fresh coat of snow all over the ground and a bright full moon. Clear night.

It was about 1am and mostly everyone except me went to sleep , so I sat behind the house and inside the shed with a heater on because it was so cold.
To be honest I was skeptical but I always saw the video’s on you tube about the guys out-west using these things and I couldn’t resist.

So i place the caller about 100 yards downhill away from the house and shed and turn it on and turn on the remote control and start walking back toward the shed. the snow was about 6 inches deep and it was an up hill walk of 100 yards..

I got back-to the shed , and took off my jacket because it was actually warm in there with the heater on. I shut the light and loaded the magazine of 5 rounds into my AR-15.

Now in my mind,  I wasn’t actually hunting but instead I was just going to see how well or if this thing actually worked. remember , I was skeptical about the price and product so that was my mindset.

The moon was so bright and with the snow of the ground , i didnt even need to use a flash light. you could see clear as day at least 200 yards from where I was. I even looked thru the scope and was able to see fine .

So i took the remote control for the called and started to do some rabbit in distress calls and turned the volume up to about half.

I sat there in the shed with the heat on facing downhill on a field behind the house looking thru the window at the beautiful moonlit snow and drinking my coffee and eating a couple of seven layer rainbow cookies.

Holy ####.

I could not have been there for more than 2-3 minutes when a coyote that looked like the size of a horse came running out HOT into the middle of the field where I had the caller..

Talk about getting caught off guard…

I felt like the kid who stutters when he talks to the hottest girl in high school..

Coffee went all over the place , choked on the cookies , kicked the heater sideways and almost knocked my chair over when I stood up. I couldnt believe it. I been hunting this piece of property behind my house for a years now, we had seen raccoon , deer squirrel’s, ground hogs and other varmint but never a coyote.
I couldn’t believe my eyes. I was stuttering.

My emotions had got the best of me and it showed. It showed so much , I made too much noise opening the window and spilling the coffee and knocking over the little heater that Mr.Coyote had heard my commotion and began to make his exit.

I was able to get a glimpse of him in my scope. bang,.........bang bang bang ......bang…
The whole clip. 5 rounds of .223 hollow point and not one made contact.

I went down later on and inspected for blood. All that was there was a glob of hair.  Probably just skinned him with a hot round and gave him a little shave.

That was the power of this thing.
They cost $ 600 bucks.
I wouldn’t spend that kinda money normally but I had the gift cards.

But to any of you fellas out there who have the cash, this product comes highly recommended. Highly.
later on in late February , I was able to get upstate for another weekend.
My brother in law and I went to a friends farm and cleaned out 4 coyotes in 2 days in about 3 hours of total hunting.

Mark,

Great story and I’m still laughing trying to imagine you getting rattled and throwing coffee everywhere in the shed.  Let us know if you connect with Mr. Coyote any time soon.

Sounds like a good time! Love me some coyote huntin! I use an M1A SOCOM, wich may be overkill, but is a lot of fun!

Mark,
Using the sights right now, which are pretty accurate for a military style peep. They are 1/4 moa adjustable for elevation and windage. Still gathering parts and pieces to scope it. When I do, I will post some pics. Is a wicked little gun. Little because I have the SOCOM 16 (16 inch barrel). Thanks for showing interest!

ya, ide like to see some pics of it…
it is a great rifle..

if i ever came across the cash , i would put it on my list…  .. which is very very long at the moment

if your good with the iron sights , ide think about leaving it as is , no optics.. its so much easier to shoot at night without a scope under flashlight… .
just a thought…
but good luck with it if you do, let me see the pics…
