Christopher Renshaw holds a Masters of Science degree in natural resources management and engineering from the University of Connecticut where his research interests have focused on wildlife, wildfires, prescribed burning, and predator-prey relationships. Chris has also conducted research in Patagonia, Chile and South Africa as a wildlife and fire ecologist in addition to teaching wildlife management and fire ecology undergraduate courses in the United States.
Along with a lifelong passion for the outdoors, conservation and challenge, Chris was drawn at an early age to the fire service. Chris has fought numerous western wildfires during his career and is equally at home in the structural fire field. An accomplished writer, Chris is a recipient of the New England Outdoor Writers Association Scholarship and the prestigious Art Sullivan Memorial Excellence Award for his commitment to conservation.
Christopher Renshaw is currently a professional firefighter at the University of Connecticut Fire Department – Storrs, IAFF Local S-15, and a squad boss for the Connecticut Interstate Wildfire Crew.
