It’s Not the Knot

 

Anglers argue about the best knots to catch fish from one pound to 100. Although choice is important, I’ll take a well-tied improved clinch knot 90 percent of the time, because it’s not the knot, its how you tie the knot that matters. To tie the perfect clinch knot wet your line with a generous amount of saliva and pull the knot down  evenly. Then seat the knot with a final slow but firm tug and then tug it again. If it makes it through the second tug you’re ready to hit the water.
