USA Fans Chose 2012 Photo of the Year

By the start of December, forty-seven USA members either made or took the perfect shot—winning the USA’s Photo of the Week contest and a brand-new Buck knife. Whether they took down their first trophy elk or captured a rare moment in the field or on the water, these pictures capture the essence of what it means to be a union sportsman or woman. Because there were so many great images, the USA hosted its first Photo of the Year contest. From Dec. 3-14, USA members, friends and family casted their votes on Facebook by “liking” their favorite photos from among the Photo of the Week winners. In less than two weeks, the 47 photos in the competition received a whopping 1,998 likes, and when the votes were tallied, Michael Conry of IBEW Local 164 was the clear winner with 334 likes. Jennifer Barocsi of IAFF Local 3544 was the runner up with 201 likes. Congratulations to Michael Conry for his winning photo! Perhaps next year, he’ll send in a photo of the buck he harvests in his brand-new, U.S. made Summit treestand—his award as the Photo of the Year winner. Thank you to all our contestants for sharing your fantastic photos and to everyone who casted a vote in the contest.

Get in on the Staff Favorite! The USA staff will pick their favorite photo from among all the photos submitted in the USA Photo Contest through the end of the 2012 – regardless of whether or not they were Photo of the Week winners. The winner will receive an Otis gun cleaning kit. So if you’re a USA member, send in your best shots by the end of the month HERE.
