Graphic Design Internship

The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance (USA) is seeking a Graphic Design Intern. The USA is a hunting and fishing association of the Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership (TRCP) and its trade union partners, exclusively for union members, retirees and their families.  The TRCP, which is headquartered in Washington D.C., is a coalition of the nation’s leading conservation organizations, labor unions and individuals working together to “Guarantee All Americans a Place to Hunt and Fish.”

This internship is open to students working on their degree in Graphic Design. It is an unpaid position, consisting of 10-15 hours per week.  The length of the internship is flexible, but 12 weeks is preferred. The position requires an individual who is available to work from home or school and is very comfortable multi-tasking and working in a fast-paced, short deadline environment. By participating in this opportunity, the intern will develop concepts and make creative decisions; gain depth in graphic design experience while expanding his/her portfolio; and develop an understanding of a federated non-profit organization.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the production and design details of USA materials, including but not limited to publications, brochures, announcements, advertisements, posters, promotional materials, websites etc.

Qualifications:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Completed at least 2 years of college and currently enrolled in a Graphic Design degree program
• Ability to be analytical, work independently and take initiative
• Proficiency with design programs, i.e. Quark, InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, Page Maker
• Thorough, accurate, organized and efficient work habits
• Capacity to work under tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects
